ABOUT THE ROLE Improve inmate wellness at the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Camp Hill by providing high-quality dental care. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Conduct periodontal exams, diagnose oral conditions, and provide restorative and preventative treatments - Explain medical histories, care instructions, and treatment plans to inmate patients - Direct the work of dental assistants and hygienists, offer training, and evaluate performance - Examine schedules, records, laboratory results, and grievances to maintain standards and improve quality - Manage inventory, approve new supply needs, and maintain proper security and tool control - Carry out additional assigned responsibilities as needed MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - Graduation from an approved school of dentistry (applicants within three months of graduating with a qualifying degree are considered to have met this requirement) - Ability to perform essential job functions SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS - Must possess a license to practice dentistry issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Dentistry - Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required - Must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements - Pennsylvania residency requirement is currently waived for this title SELECTION PROCESS 1.
