About This Position

ABOUT THE ROLE This is a full-time, permanent swing shift position at the Spokane Veterans Home. The role provides resident-centered care to Veterans, ensuring a safe and healthy environment where residents are treated with dignity and respect. The Licensed Practical Nurse 4 assists and monitors residents with activities of daily living based on current nursing standards of practice. This position is not eligible for telework. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Serve as charge nurse for the assigned area. - Act as a back-up supervisor in the absence of a Registered Nurse (RN). - Update and maintain Minimum Data Set (MDS) documentation. - Assist residents with positioning, transferring, and ambulation. - Monitor and maintain a safe environment for residents and staff. - Document and report observed changes in patient condition and behavior. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - Currently holds a valid LPN license from the State of Washington. - Two (2) years of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse. - Proficient in the English language (ability to read, write, and speak). - Ability to perform data entry and maintain confidentiality at all times. - Ability to provide a positive living environment, follow written and verbal directions, and meet psychosocial needs. - Preferred: Long-term care experience and a proven ability to earn trust and serve as a positive role model. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS - Must pass a DSHS BCCU Background Check every two years. - Must comply with annual Tuberculin Screening. - Requires medical evaluation, fit testing, and the ability to wear respiratory protection (respirator, medical gloves, gowns, eye protection). - Must remain current on CPR certification. - Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs, reach a minimum of 36 inches, and push, pull, walk, sit, and bend in an unrestricted manner. - Must maintain regular and reliable attendance and complete all mandatory annual training. - Must possess work authorization that does not require employer visa sponsorship.
