ABOUT THE ROLE The San Diego County Registrar of Voters is seeking a flexible, team-oriented Temporary Election Worker Specialist for the upcoming November 2026 election. This role focuses on conducting outreach to the Hmong community. The ideal candidate possesses strong knowledge of the culture and language of the focus community, with a schedule that can be adjusted based on availability. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Set up and take down outreach booths at community events. - Assist with community outreach, education, presentations, and workshops related to voter and election information. - Translate and proofread documents from English into the Hmong language. - Conduct online research related to Hmong community events. - Work with minimal supervision to support departmental outreach goals. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - Ability to speak, read, and write in both English and Hmong. - Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions, policies, and procedures. - Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed. - Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and punctuality. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS - Proficiency in using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and Zoom. - Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time. - Must be able to perform repetitive movements. - Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. - Must wear an employee badge and access card at all times while working. - Must follow all health and safety protocols. - Must represent the Registrar of Voters in a professional, non-partisan manner.
