Senior IT Systems Analyst

ABOUT THE ROLE The Technology Services Department of the City and County of Denver is hiring two Senior IT Systems Analysts to serve as a strategic bridge between business departments and technical execution. One role focuses on supporting Workday and other City applications across Finance, HR, Payroll, and Procurement. The other role supports Life Cycle Management and Modernization initiatives to maintain operational stability, reduce risk, and accelerate the modernization of aging systems. Both roles involve managing service requests, coordinating testing, and driving solutions in a hybrid work environment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Lead requirements gathering and translate complex business needs into technical and functional requirements. - Analyze workflows and recommend process improvements. - Build and maintain system and integration requirements in Azure DevOps (ADO). - Partner with users, technical staff, and vendors to understand needs and resolve issues. - Own and resolve service requests and occasional incidents within standard SLAs. - Support testing activities, including planning, coordination, and user acceptance testing. - Provide Tier 3 support and configure advanced system features based on requirements. - Participate in technical and cross-team meetings, including Change Advisory Board (CAB) reviews. - Manage and prioritize backlog items and support system testing and quality checks. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Mathematics, or a related field. - Five (5) years of experience as a Systems Analyst in a complex, integrated environment. - Three (3) years of experience leading analysis between business and technical teams. - Education and Experience Equivalency: One year of appropriate experience may substitute for each required year of post-high school education, and additional appropriate education may substitute for minimum experience requirements. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS - Workday Track: Workday Pro Platform Administrator certification is required, along with Workday Report Writer certification and functional knowledge of at least two Workday modules. - Lifecycle Management Track: Three (3) years supporting database, OS, and application lifecycle management (including upgrades, SaaS, and AWS migrations). - Must obtain Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) clearance within the probationary period. - Must have valid work authorization that does not require sponsorship of a visa for employment in the U.S. SELECTION PROCESS Candidates will be evaluated based on their submitted application materials, ensuring alignment with the minimum qualifications, track-specific experience, and required certifications.
