Revenue Protection Supervisor

ABOUT THE ROLE This full-time management position within the BART Police Department plays a critical role in safeguarding District revenue. The Revenue Protection Supervisor leads and supervises Revenue Protection Guards responsible for protecting cash handling operations at stations, the Cash Handling Building, and during transport activities. The role involves operational planning, personnel management, policy implementation, incident response, and maintaining strong partnerships with Treasury, Operations, and Police Department leadership. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Plan, organize, and supervise Revenue Protection Guards protecting District cash and Treasury personnel. - Review and evaluate staff performance, administer disciplinary actions, approve leave requests, and adjust schedules. - Advise guards on revenue protection methods and implement changes to operating procedures. - Ensure compliance with all rules, policies, regulations, and laws applicable to the Revenue Protection group. - Conduct first-line investigations of various incidents and involve other Police Department or District staff as needed. - Serve as a liaison for the Police Department with other divisions, departments, and outside agencies, including the Treasury Department. - Coordinate with training staff to provide appropriate development for subordinates. - Handle and respond to inquiries and complaints from the community or other District departments. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - EITHER: Current employment and a minimum of two (2) years of full-time experience as a Revenue Protection Guard with BART. - OR: High school diploma, GED, or recognized equivalent, plus the equivalent of four (4) years of full-time experience in security and protective services, including at least two (2) years of lead experience. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS - Must have Certification in Firearms and Arrest Training. - Must be at least 21 years old at appointment. - Must pass an 832 Penal Code (arrest/control) and firearms course, and qualify every six months at Department range programs. - Must possess the physical strength and ability to subdue and apprehend persons attacking the treasury crew or vehicles. - Must be able to work various shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime. - Must pass a comprehensive background investigation, including a psychiatric examination, fingerprinting, and a polygraph exam.
