ABOUT THE ROLE The Lancaster County Sheriff's Office is seeking highly motivated individuals driven by a passion to serve. While primarily focused on law enforcement duties outside Lincoln city limits, the proximity to Nebraska's capital offers unique challenges and rewards. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Perform law enforcement duties primarily outside Lincoln city limits - Serve the community in both rural and urban settings - Engage in professional development and potential special assignments - Maintain physical and professional standards required for sworn officers MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - High school graduate or GED - No conviction of a felony - Valid driver's license - Must be 21 years old - Must be a U.S. Citizen - Applicants must meet the Law Enforcement Certification Standards set by Chapter 8 of the Nebraska Crime Commission on Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS - Must review and comply with Nebraska Crime Commission Law Enforcement Certification Standards (https://ncc.nebraska.gov/) - Must meet specific physical standards as outlined in the certification rules - Failure to meet these requirements may result in disqualification from the process SELECTION PROCESS - Applicants who meet minimum qualifications listed on the application will be eligible for written testing - Candidates must complete a Personal History Statement prior to completing supplemental questions HOW TO APPLY 1.
