ABOUT THE ROLE
Under general supervision, the Occupational Therapist assesses, plans, and implements habilitative and rehabilitative treatment interventions for clients across various settings, including acute-care, long-term hospitals, senior programs, mental health facilities, clinical outpatient centers, home health, and public schools.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Evaluate client needs and develop treatment plans
- Implement occupational therapy treatments and document per regulatory guidelines
- Reassess client progress and manage discharge planning
- Communicate regularly with rehabilitation teams, clients, families, and community partners
- Supervise assigned staff, students, interns, and volunteers as needed
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Possession of a valid Occupational Therapy License issued by the California Board of Occupational Therapy (CBOT)
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Professional Rescuer Certificate from the American Heart Association (must be obtained within two weeks of hire if not already held)
- For California Children's Services (CCS) roles: 3 months of pediatric experience
- Additional department-specific experience may be required or highly desired depending on the specific facility assignment, such as mental health, home health, poly-trauma, or neurological impairments
